Affordable, single-page website to provide information to customers.
Project brief
We were approached by Lizzy one of our long-time print customers, as she was getting frustrated with the amount of door-to-door website salespeople visiting.
As we already knew Lizzy and her business, we offered our advice and explained how; as a small business, she didn't necessarily need a full-scale website with pages dedicated to a small amount of content.
Instead, it would be much more effective if we created a single-page website, within her budget that allowed customers to easily get in touch, and find useful information such as price lists or contact information.
The build
As with all our web projects, we started off with the design phase.
We knew Lizzy was keen to make the website look as simple as possible, whilst still remaining appealing. As this was a single-page website, careful consideration had to be made to ensure that enough information could be put on the page, without it becoming overcrowded.
Firstly, we approached the goal of always being 1 click away from being contactable. This was done by creating a floating box to the side on desktop, with the same box being docked to the bottom for one-click contact on mobile phones and tablets.
The next issue was the price list, though this was more a case of arranging a clever column system to rearrange the content depending on the amount of space available. We used the industry-standard Bootstrap css framework to achieve this, and mapped out the columns required in each view to make the transition as perfect as possible.
The results
Lizzy has been delighted with the website produced, and though there were a couple of wording changes after the build, overall the process has been completely seamless.
Without any marketing, she's seen consistent traffic to her website, and new enquiries as a result.
We were also happy to set up a Google Business page for Lizzys Laundry, complete with in-store panorama and gallery.
We're looking forward to working with Lizzy for the future, and helping her business achieve success wherever possible.
